History

Launched in 2009 by the MaD (Make A Difference) initiative in Hong Kong, the MaD project serves as a collaborative platform across creativity, entrepreneurship, innovation, and discovery. It fervently encourages the innovative endeavors of the youth in addressing contemporary issues, with the goal of fostering a creative civic society and effectuating positive change throughout Asia. In 2013, the Hong Kong Contemporary Culture Center invited Mr. Stanley Yen, Chairman of The Alliance Cultural Foundation, as the opening keynote speaker at the MaD Annual Conference, where he discussed "Planting a Seed of Hope for the Land." Following this, in 2014, the foundation nominated two distinguished volunteers to attend the conference. By 2017, The Alliance Cultural Foundation had, for the third time, garnered support from the MaD "Asian Participant Action Learning Program." This allowed the foundation to select and endorse ten exceptional volunteers to participate in the "Volunteer Growth Program," offering them the opportunity to attend this significant event in Hong Kong.
