In 2010, the Taiwanese subsidiary of 3M initiated the "Water Citizen Movement," inviting the public to join efforts in water conservation. That same year, in collaboration with the Taitung County Government and 3M, The Alliance Cultural Foundation launched 20 water foundations in Taitung, encouraging travelers to reduce their use of bottled water and instead carry refillable water bottles while traveling.
