NPO Talent Development

In 2012, Chairman Stanley Yen took on the role of Chairman at Junyi School of Innovation in Taitung County, Taiwan. During the process of running the school, we discovered that there were numerous tutoring organizations across Taiwan that had been dedicating themselves to supporting and caring for children from economically disadvantaged families at the frontlines. After conducting several in-depth visits to these rural tutoring organizations, we gained a comprehensive understanding of their operational challenges, which were not only complex but also intricate. The executive teams at these organizations frequently encountered resistance and difficulties in their day-to-day operations.

In order to assist the executive directors of these rural tutoring organizations in improving their management capabilities and alleviating their daily workloads, thus enabling their teams to operate more efficiently and, in turn, provide better care to the students they were supporting, in 2013, the Alliance Cultural Foundation (ACF), in collaboration with the Cheng Zhi Education Foundation, co-organized the "Social Entrepreneur Growth Camp (Rural Tutoring)" and initiated a year-long tutoring executive team growth program.

In the same year, while enhancing our internal capabilities and empowering our partners, the ACF also invited long-term collaborative foundations such as Lovely Taiwan Foundation, AAEON Foundation, Cheng Zhi Education Foundation, and Ripplemaker Foundation to participate in the NPO Talent Cultivation Series. This initiative aimed to enhance the leadership, planning, and execution abilities of middle and senior-level executives and facilitate opportunities for partner foundations to engage in mutual exchange.
